Mari-Elena Leckel is extremely passionate about supporting, educating, and empowering families during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. She was born in New York and is the oldest of three children. Mari became a mother at a young age and met her husband when her daughter was seven years old. With the love and support of her husband and family, and her determination to succeed, she decided to go back to school and went on to graduate from Tufts University with a degree in sociology. Upon receiving her degree, she began working in law enforcement.
Mari and her husband decided in 2009 to expand their family but were challenged by infertility issues. The next few years were filled with a multitude of doctor visits, moments of excitement and also heartbreak. In 2012, she gave birth to her second daughter and because of the tremendous amount of love and support throughout her journey, she wanted to “somehow, give that back.” She completed trainings as a Childbirth Educator, Labor and Postpartum Doula through CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association), Dancing For Birth™ Instructor, and Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Mari is also trained as a Labor and Postpartum Doula through ProDoula.
The journey to motherhood is different for everyone but Mari believes every mother and family deserve to be loved, encouraged, educated, and empowered with non-judgmental and unconditional support. Mari considers it an honor and privilege to work with families during such intimate and special moments.

It was after working with these two women that Gayle realized she wanted to work with new moms.
Gayle is thrilled and honored to be able to work with parents to educate and empower them to be the best parents to their children.
Surey’s journey as a birth professional has been developing for a long time, ever since she was a teenager and learned that having a baby did not have to be the scary, chaotic scenes she’d always seen on television. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she never allowed living on an island to define her boundaries and wound up traveling the world and studying abroad during her college years. Surey holds a BA in anthropology, an MA in archaeology & heritage management, and focused on cultural norms and practices surrounding gender identity, sexuality, and the construction of womanhood throughout her academic career. As time passed, however, her fascination with childbirth and motherhood kept beckoning.
After living in New York City for 4 years and then moving to Massachusetts in 2012, she found herself supporting her younger sister as she had a baby! That was her first taste of doula life, and she instantly knew this was her calling. She went on to train as a Birth Doula through Birth Arts International in 2014, then as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, as well as a Postpartum Placenta Specialist, through ProDoula in 2015, when she also joined the team at Acelleron.
Surey is most passionate about empowering women and families to step into this new chapter of their lives with confidence and joy. During times she is not supporting families, she can be found reading fantasy and historical fiction, knitting, crocheting, writing, watching Netflix marathons, or indulging in some delicious baked goodies. She prides herself on being a Renaissance woman, whose adaptability and knack for communication serve her clients well.

Prior to becoming a special educator, she was a personal care assistant and worked with foster children and adults with special needs through the Shared Living Collaborative in Merrimac, MA.
During her time teaching, Brittany realized she wished to better support families through all stages and discovered her calling as a doula. She originally trained as a Birth Doula in 2013 and subsequently completed Postpartum Placenta Specialist and Postpartum Doula trainings through ProDoula. In order to better support families with newborns, she recently completed a course through the University of California: San Diego and is now a Certified Lactation Educator. Combining all of her training and experience, Brittany’s goal is to provide families with a supportive beginning in their wonderful journey of life and love.
